Discover sustainable nitrogen fertilization with Azotohelp

Mineral fertilizers are not the only source of nitrogen

Intensive agriculture requires a significant amount of mineral fertilizers, especially nitrogen. Mineral fertilizers, however, are not the only source of nitrogen for plants. It has been known for years that certain microorganisms are able to fix nitrogen from the atmosphere and make it available to plants.

There are two types of nitrogen-fixing bacteria: free-living and symbiotic. Unlike symbiotic bacteria, which can only cooperate with a specific plant genus, free-living bacteria, such as Azotobacter, are "universal" and can provide additional nitrogen to virtually any plant.

WHAT IS AZOTOHELP AND HOW DOES IT WORK ?

Azotobacter chroococcum is the base of the nitrogen binder AZOTOHELP. It is intended for different types of applications: Treatment of starting material, seedlings and, for example, potato tubers, as well as through fertigation or as a foliar application. When the working solution of the product gets into the soil or onto the leaves, Azotobacter chroococcum bacteria start to convert molecular nitrogen (N®2) into ammonium (NH4+) and nitrates (NO3-), which plants can easily absorb.

The universal nature of Azotobacter makes AZOTOHELP useful for all types of crops, including cereals, vegetables, fruits and berries, as well as ornamental plants. Scientific research shows that Azotobacter chroococcum colonies will be able to bind an average of 20 kg/ha of nitrogen and make it available to plants, with a maximum of 60 kg/ha. The exact amount of additional nitrogen that AZOTOHELP can provide depends on the specific conditions of the field: soil type, pH, moisture content, etc....

In addition to producing nitrogen compounds, bacteria in AZOTOHELP's composition also help produce plant hormones, which promote plant growth.

BTU launched AZOTOHELP in 2005 and today the product is widely applied in 12 countries. Since its market launch, the manufacturer BTU has collected a lot of data on its application in multiple countries on various crops.

WHAT MAKES AZOTOHELP DIFFERENT FROM OTHER NITROGEN BINDERS?

Besides the fact that AZOTOHELP is a very mature product with good experiences worldwide, the fact that AZOTOHELP is liquid makes it an incredibly fine product to work with. When applying, one can use the product directly without first mixing it with water next to the field sprayer, which is the case with a powdered product. Also, the product is also readily miscible with most common actives, making it easy to use in a common spray. However, it is only not miscible with copper (Cu).
